It’s Friday, which means it’s time to read up on the silliest and least important happenings in hockey. This week, we check in on Jake Virtanen, catch up with some good Swedes, and get an update on Nikolay Goldobin’s whereabouts and interests.
- Nikolay Goldobin is in Vancouver and want to play tennis!
- He is also enjoying the views and some chocolate milk. Wholesome!
- NHL.com ran a feature on Alex Edler, who seems to be enjoying his role on Team Sweden at the World Championships. Two things about this article stand out. First, Anton Stralman calls Edler an enforcer, which is hilarious.

Second, Alex Edler says that all Swedes are good, which is adorable and mostly true. Edler and his good Swedes will face off against Finland in the semis. Team Canada will face Russia.

- Daniel Sedin, one of the many good Swedes, signed autographs in a blanket fort this week!
- William Nylander is also a good Swede, and Nikolaj Ehlers is a good Dane. Here are two tweets presented without further comment.
Oh y'know, just hangin' with a Crown Prince 👑 #IIHFWorlds
- Remember Loui Eriksson’s own goal at the very beginning of last season? Team Italy blew that gaffe completely out of the water this week. Bellissimo.
Italy sign off at #IIHFWorlds with, er, this...
