The Canucks are going to be without Bo Horvat for the next few weeks, so there’s no point in even pretending to be happy, but we’ll do our best.
- Sam Gagner was mic’d up during Tuesday night’s game. He comments on Nikolay Goldobin’s dancing shoes and encourages the team to keep the puck as far away from Jacob Markstrom’s net as possible.
- These gifs of the team celebrating with Markstrom after his first shutout are so adorable

- For some reason, here is a video of Troy Stecher struggling to open up a gum wrapper.
- If you haven’t seen or read Derek Dorsett’s farewell to hockey, it’s worth a bit of your time. Dorsett’s story of his career is nicely put together, and it’s good to see that he’s approaching his unexpected early retirement with optimism and without regrets!
Derek Dorsett (@Twigy15) sat down with @FriedgeHNIC and opened up about his career-ending injury. You can watch it tomorrow on Wednesday Night Hockey. He also wrote a candid letter about the situation: sprtsnt.ca/2jhDdAl
- Here is Sven Baertschi in a weird ugly jersey sweater thing:
- And here is Sven Baertschi in normal attire, being a good guy:
With the help of the @NHLPA Goals & Dreams Fund, @SvenBaertschi is at North Surrey Rec Ctr right now donating 25 sets of hockey gear to @heroshockey! 👌
- In case you somehow managed to miss it, Markus Naslund’s letter to Daniel Sedin to congratulate him on his 1000th NHL point was too much. Too many feelings.
- Finally, let’s check in with former Canuck Jared McCann for the sole purpose of looking at these jerseys and getting really mad about it. Why did this happen?
Thanks a lot @minter. M^cGinn seems to be the outlier of the 4 Mc/Macs on the Panthers, fyi.
