Vancouver’s proposal to be a hub city for NHL games has been approved by B.C. Premier John Horgan and provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, The Canadian Press reported this week.
According to the report, Horgan wrote to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in hopes of advancing the initiative based on a modification of quarantine measures allowing a team to remain together as a family, or a bubble.
A team would stay in one hotel and travel together to Rogers Arena for games using private transportation, The Canadian Press reported, and that they would be responsible for any COVID-19 testing.
The league has yet to announce which two cities will operate as hosts, but the league has gone forth with brining their 24-team format to light.
On top of that, the league recently entered the third phase of their return to play which has seen small groups of players begin training.
