Hughes second in PHWA mid-season Calder Trophy voting

The Professional Hockey Writers Association released their mid-season NHL award winners and Vancouver Canucks defenceman Quinn Hughes placed second in Calder Trophy votes.
The rookie rearguard came in second in votes to @Colorado Avalance D @Cale Makar.
Hughes is third in scoring among all rookies positing five goals and 29 assists in 48 games this season. Named to the all-star game as the Pacific Divisions last man in, he’ll be in tough to beat out Makar for this year’s Calder Trophy.
PHWA president and TSN reporter Frank Seravalli tweeted Thursday that Makar won in a landslide fashion taking 101 first-place votes to Hughes’ 11.
