Report: Former Canucks goaltender Jacob Markstrom picked as Vezina Trophy finalist

Former Vancouver Canucks goaltender Jacob Markstrom has been given the first Vezina Trophy nomination of his career, according to ESPN’s Keivn Weekes.
According to Weekes, Markstrom is nominated alongside Nashville goaltender Juuse Saros, along with heavy favourite to win the award, Igor Shesterkin.
Markstrom, 32, spent seven seasons as a member of the Canucks’ organization, and finally put it all together under the guidance of Canucks goaltending coach Ian Clark before cashing in on a 6 year deal worth $36 million
Unlike most awards handed out by the league, the Vezina Trophy is voted on by all 32 NHL GMs, rather than members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association.
In his second season with the Flames, Markstrom put up a .922 save percentage through 63 games played, and currently has a .942 save percentage through three playoff games despite his club being down 2-1 in their first round series against the Dallas Stars.
