Plays of the Week: May 7th-May 13th
By Vanessa Jang
6 years agoLet’s get the elephant out of the room: Jim Benning meant no harm by his controversial statement made this week. Yes, it was an extremely poor choice of words on his part and he definitely could’ve answered it more appropriately. However, we all knew his intention and it was definitely not to offend anyone. Was it taken out of context? For sure. For many Canucks fans, Jim Benning has been an easy punching bag. Those individuals took advantage of this situation and used it against him. Don’t get me wrong, what he said was bad and should’ve been kept between himself and the scouts. I hardly doubt Jim Benning went on air with the intention or causing a stir.
Other than that, it was pretty quiet on the Canucks news-related front. Canucks Army continued on with its scheduled Year in Review series, as well as some other draft-related content. Miss an article? I’ve got you covered with the Plays of the Week.
