The National Hockey League is examining starting its 2020-21 season in November.
According to TSN’s Pierre LeBrun, the league is willing to delay the start of their next season until November if it means being able to finish off this season.
The latest comes after the league has previously said they didn’t want to impact their 2020-21 season by trying to conclude the 2019-20 campaign. This thought from the league, however, appears to have cooled with this latest report from LeBrun.
If the league wanted to start the 2020-21 season in November, they, in theory, could can bye weeks as well as eliminate the NHL’s all-star week. We could also see the NHL pushing back its playoffs due to starting the season late.
