Islanders at Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

The last time that the Canucks met the Islanders was on February 1 in New York. Vancouver was riding high at that point in the season, defeating the Islanders 4-3 in overtime for their fifth straight win to improve to 14-3 over their last 17 games and to 30-18-4 on the season. But since then, the Canucks are just 5-9-2 over their last 16 games including a current slump of 1-5-0 over their last six games. Which version of the team will Vancouver look like over its last 14 regular season contests?
In their last six games against Eastern Conference opponents, the Canucks are 2-4 on the moneyline per the OddsShark NHL Database.
Back on November 21, the Islanders making the playoffs looked like a formality on the heels of a red-hot 16-3-1 start. But while the team continued to get by on mostly .500 hockey over its next 35 games (17-13-5), the bottom has dropped out in recent weeks as the Islanders are 2-7-3 in their last 12 games. New York has lost six straight games, and its only two wins since February 11 have come against the Detroit Red Wings and San Jose Sharks, two of the worst teams in the NHL.
Tuesday night’s total is set at 5.5 goals at sports betting sites. The UNDER is 9-3 in New York’s last 12 games.
The Canucks entered the NHL All-Star Break in first place in the Pacific Division. They enter Tuesday night’s action in fourth place, 10 points behind the first-place Vegas Golden Knights and three points behind the third-place Calgary Flames. Vancouver still controls its playoff destiny with games in hand on Calgary and the two teams currently holding wild card spots in the Western Conference, but time to turn things around is starting to run out.
