Vancouver is a +205 underdog on the NHL odds for Game 6 at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Golden Knights can close out the series with a victory as -245 favorites.

With Jacob Markstrom on the shelf with a groin injury, backup goaltender Thatcher Demko was thrust into action on Tuesday night. Demko was brilliant in his first career postseason start as he stopped 42 of the 43 shots that he faced in Vancouver’s 2-1 win. The Canucks managed only 17 shots on goal through three periods but were able to get goals from Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson to squeak out the victory.
The Canucks cashed in as as +200 underdog in Game 5. Before that win, Vancouver was 1-7 in its last eight games as an underdog of +200 or higher per the OddsShark NHL Database.
While the result of Game 5 wasn’t the one that the Golden Knights wanted, they should feel good going into Game 6 knowing that if they dominate the pace of play again like they did on Tuesday night, it’s going to be difficult for the Canucks to come out on top again. Vegas has not lost back-to-back games since all the way back on February 11. The Golden Knights are 21-5 over their last 26 games including a 5-0 record in their last five games coming off a loss.
Thursday night’s total is set at six goals at betting sites. The UNDER is 3-2 through the first five games of this series.
The Colorado Avalanche were able to erase a 3-1 series deficit with a win on Wednesday to force a Game 7 against the Dallas Stars on Friday. The Canucks are hoping they can do the same. Vancouver is lucky to still be alive after being dominated on Tuesday, but now the team has a golden opportunity to bounce back with a stronger showing to extend this series.
