Golden Knights vs Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report
The Canucks were shut out for the second time in this series and the third time this postseason on Saturday night. Despite drawing a power play five times and recording 31 shots on goal, Vancouver was unable to find the back of the net. Vancouver is now 8-0 in games that it scores at least three goals this postseason and 0-5 in games that it scores two goals or less.
Sunday’s game will mark the 14th time this season that the Canucks have been an underdog going off at +150 or higher. Vancouver is 5-8 in its previous 13 games as this big of a betting underdog per the OddsShark NHL Database.
Vegas stuck with Robin Lehner in goal on Saturday and was rewarded with a 31-save shutout. Lehner has now played in three different postseasons with three different teams and owns a 2.07 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage across 19 postseason appearances and 17 postseason starts. The Golden Knights improved to 9-2 in the NHL bubble with Saturday’s win. They will look to keep things going on the second game of a back-to-back after going 7-1 in their last eight games on that end of a back-to-back.
Sunday night’s total is set at 5.5 goals at online betting sites. The UNDER is 2-1 so far in this series between the Canucks and Golden Knights.
Vancouver is 3-1 this postseason in games coming off a loss. This isn’t necessarily a must-win game for the Canucks, but facing a team of Vegas’ caliber in need of three straight wins would not be an appealing proposition. The Canucks would be wise to bring an elimination-game mentality to this one in their attempt to even up the series at two games apiece.
