The Vancouver Canucks are 3-1 over their last four postseason games. The Canucks will look to stay hot and take the lead in their best-of-seven series against the Vegas Golden Knights with a win in Game 3 on Saturday in Edmonton.
Vancouver is a +175 underdog on the NHL odds for Game 3 at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. Vegas is going off at -195 after closing as a favourite of -200 or higher in six of its last seven games.
Golden Knights vs Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report
Tyler Toffoli made an immediate impact in his return to the lineup on Tuesday night, contributing a goal and two assists to help lead the Canucks to a 5-2 blowout win over the Golden Knights. Elias Pettersson also had a goal and two assists in the game to bring his team-leading points total to 16 while Bo Horvat scored two goals to bring his team-leading goal total to eight. And Jacob Markstrom bounced back from one of his worst games of the postseason with one of his best, stopping 38 of the 40 shots he saw in Game 2 to help the Canucks preserve their lead.
The Canucks are now 2-1 in their last three games against Vegas since going 1-8 in their previous nine games against them per the OddsShark NHL Database.
Vancouver’s offence forced the St. Louis Blues into some tough starting goaltending decisions in the last round. Could the same happen in this series? Robin Lehner has taken over the starting role for the Golden Knights, but his four goals allowed on just 26 shots was his worst performance in the NHL bubble. It will be interesting to see if Marc-Andre Fleury remains on the bench or if he gets another chance at the starting gig, especially if Vegas struggles to keep the puck out of the net again in Game 3.
Game 3’s total is set at six goals at online sports betting sites. The OVER is 4-1 in the last five games between the Canucks and the Golden Knights.
Vegas scored five goals in a Game 1 blowout and Vancouver scored five goals in a Game 2 blowout. If these two high-powered offenses start getting in sync on the same night, there should be some thrilling games to come in this series.
