Since their inception in 2017, the Vegas Golden Knights have gone 8-0-1 in nine games against the Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks will try to end this stretch of dominance with a win at home on Thursday night.
Vancouver is a +120 home underdog on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Golden Knights (-140) defeated the Canucks 6-3 when the two teams met in Vegas last Sunday night.

The Canucks fired 39 shots on goal against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night, but they could only find one goal in a 3-1 loss that extended the team’s losing streak to three games. Since opening the season with a 5-3 record in October, Jacob Markstrom has gone just 4-11 over his last 15 starts. Markstrom’s numbers haven’t been bad this season with a 2.70 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage, but with the team struggling and Thatcher Demko out with a concussion, Markstrom may need to find another gear to get Vancouver back on track.
In their last 18 games against Pacific Division rivals, the Canucks are 6-12 on the moneyline according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
The Golden Knights have snapped out of their listless 11-11-4 start to the season to go 8-2-1 over their last 11 games, looking more like the Stanley Cup contender that they were projected to be coming into this season. At 19-13-5, Vegas now sits just one point behind Arizona for the top spot in the Pacific, and the Golden Knights’ ascension into that spot feels inevitable. Vegas is 4-1-1 in its last six games on the road.
Thursday night’s total is set at six goals at online betting sites. The UNDER is 5-2 in Vegas’s last seven games.
These two teams have been trending in different directions over the last month with Vegas making a climb in the standings and Vancouver slipping down in them. The Canucks have averaged only 1.4 goals per game over their current 1-4 slump, and that isn’t going to cut it against the Golden Knights, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Edmonton Oilers who are coming up on this home stand. Can they snap out of their offensive drought on Thursday night?
