Coyotes at Canucks | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Canucks tore through the end of December with a seven-game winning streak before going 2-3 over their most recent five-game road trip. Vancouver now returns home for three games against Western Conference foes before hitting the road for another five games. With a perfect 6-0 record over their last six home games, the Canucks are 14-5-3 at Rogers Arena this season; a significant improvement over the 11-13-1 record that Vancouver currently has on the road.
Vancouver is 6-0-0 in its last six games as a betting favorite per the OddsShark NHL Database. Conversely, Arizona is just 2-6 on the moneyline in its last eight games as an underdog.
Antti Raanta and Adin Hill have held down the fort in goal for the Coyotes in Darcy Kuemper’s absence, leading the team to a 6-5-1 record over its last 12 games. Arizona ranks 22nd in the NHL in scoring this season with 2.8 goals per game, but that hasn’t held the Coyotes back this season due to some excellent play in the defensive zone and in goal. The Coyotes rank third in the NHL in goals against per game at 2.55 and are the surprising team in first place in the Pacific Division as the All-Star Break approaches with a 26-18-5 record.
Thursday night’s total is set at 5.5 goals at betting sites. The UNDER is 4-1 in Arizona’s last five games on the road.
Only three points separate the Arizona Coyotes in first place in the division with 57 points and the Vegas Golden Knights in fifth place with 54 points. The Canucks will be jostling for position in the Pacific with these two teams as well as the Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames over the second half of the season. These four-point division rivalry games will be critical in determining who makes the playoffs and who gets left out.
