The Utica Comets announced today that the Vancouver Canucks have reassigned goaltender, Michael Garteig back to the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL. Additionally, the Comets have returned forward Danny Moynihan to the Wings as well.
Garteig was recalled to Utica on December first because Comets back up goaltender, Richard Bachman was nursing a minor knee injury. Bachman did not appear in a game for Utica during the recall. In four games this season for Kalamazoo, Garteig has gone 2-2 with a 4.23 goals against average.
Moynihan, for his part, was called up from Kalamazoo on November 27th after Nikolay Goldobin was recalled by the parent Vancouver Canucks. Moynihan appeared in three games for Utica, going pointless along the way. In 12 games this season with the Wings, Moynihan has put up eight goals and six assists for 14 points, which was good enough to be the team leader at the time of his recall. I’m sure the Wings will be thrilled to get both players back into their lineup.
The Comets will be back on the ice on Wednesday at 4:05 pm Pacific when they take on the Rochester Americans. CanucksArmy will have your Post-Game Report following the game.
