It looks like the Utica Comets have added one of their former players, Marco Roy, on a PTO. The ECHL transactions page shows the 6’1″, 182lbs, 23-year-old center as being loaned to the Utica Comets from the Fort Wayne Komets. In 14 games this season with the Komets, Roy has accumulated six goals and 11 assists, good for 17 points to go along with 18 minutes in the penalty box. Roy has also spent seven games with the San Jose Barracuda of the AHL, going pointless with four minutes in the box.
The former second-round pick, 56th overall in the 2013 NHL draft, of the Oilers spent 23 games with Utica in the 2016/17 season, picking up one goal, five assists, and four penalty minutes. The Comets have been decimated by injuries this season and now have eight players in town on PTO deals, to go along with Anton Cederholm and Danny Moynihan, who are both up from Kalamazoo of the ECHL. Even being as shorthanded as they are, the Comets have managed to pick up at least a point in 12 of their last 15 games.
The Comets are back in action tomorrow, Friday, December 29th at 4:00 pm Pacific in the second half of back-to-back games vs the Providence Bruins. CanucksArmy will have your post-game report following the game.
