Canucks vs Jets | OddsShark Matchup Report
Connor McDavid had a goal and three assists in Edmonton’s 4-3 win over the Canucks on Saturday night, finishing up his four-game stretch against Vancouver with three goals and 10 assists. With the regulation loss to the Oilers, the Canucks fell to 1-7 over their last eight games and are now one loss or one Montreal Canadiens point away from officially being eliminated from playoff contention. Vancouver enters this series with an 8-14-1 record on the road.
In their last 12 games when playing the first game of a back-to-back, the Canucks are 7-5-0.
Connor Hellebuyck made only 19 saves on the 22 shots that he faced in Saturday’s 4-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators. The Jets are now 1-8 over their last nine games since going 27-14-3 through their first 44 games. Winnipeg has averaged only 1.78 goals per game over the nine-game skid while allowing 3.56 goals per game over that same stretch. The Jets are hoping to get back on track against the Canucks before wrapping up their regular season with a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday.
Monday night’s total is set at 5.5 goals at betting sites. The UNDER is 6-1 in the last seven road games the Canucks have played against the Jets.
Winnipeg has already locked up a playoff spot with a 28-22-3 record on the season but is now holding just a two-point lead over the Montreal Canadiens for the third seed in the North Division. The Canucks have the opportunity to play a bit of a spoiler role here and potentially pick up some wins against this slumping Jets team if they are able to keep up the offensive effort they’ve had over their last two games.
