The Vancouver Canucks announced today that they have placed Michael Chaput on waivers. Should Chaput clear by 9:00 am Pacific Tuesday, he should be available for the Comets’ game vs Hartford on Wednesday.
Chaput has appeared in nine games with the Canucks this year, going pointless. He has been, however, a key cog for the Comets this season. Chaput had been the Comets number one centre for parts of this season, most recently slotting in between Nikolay Goldobin and Reid Boucher.
In 23 games with the Comets this season, Chaput has put up nine goals and seven assists, to give him 16 points. Getting Chaput back right now would be huge for the Comets, as they are starting to get healthy and they have been playing well of late, moving up the standings over their last handful of games.
The Comets are back on the ice on Wednesday vs the Hartford Wolf Pack at 4:00 pm Pacific. CanucksArmy will have your post-game report following the game.
