The Vancouver Canucks are just 3-17 on the moneyline in their last 20 games played in the month of November. The Canucks will be looking for a win to try to turn things around on Tuesday night on the road against the Dallas Stars.
Vancouver is a +125 road underdog on the NHL odds in Dallas at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Stars (-145) defeated the Canucks 4-2 in Vancouver when these two teams met last week.
Canucks at Stars | OddsShark Matchup Report
The Canucks appeared to be on their way to another listless loss down 4-2 late in the third period against the Colorado Avalanche, but Vancouver fought back with two goals in the final three minutes of regulation to send the game to overtime. Unfortunately for the Canucks, Nathan MacKinnon found the game-winner to drop Vancouver to 1-4-2 over its last seven games. At 10-7-4, the Canucks now have 24 points on the season and are one of five teams in the Pacific Division within three points of each other vying for the third spot in the division.
In their last 20 games against the Stars, the Canucks are 5-15 on the moneyline per the OddsShark NHL Database.
The red-hot Dallas Stars improved their winning streak to three game and their 7-0-1 point streak to eight games with a 5-4 overtime win against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night. Since opening the season to the tune of a disastrous 1-7-1 record, Dallas has done a full 180 and gone 10-1-1 over its last 12 games. The Stars are averaging 3.8 goals per game over their current point streak.
Tuesday night’s total is set at 5.5 goals at betting sites. The UNDER is 12-5 in Vancouver’s last 17 games on the road.
While the Canucks did fall short in overtime, the team showed a lot of life at the end of their game against the Avalanche that they can hope will carry over into this matchup against the Stars. Dallas scored first and never trailed when these two teams met last Thursday night. To beat a team as well as Dallas is playing right now on the road, Vancouver needs to jump out to a faster start this time around.
