The Canucks are now 3-0 in their last three games coming off of a loss thanks to a 7-2 blowout win over the Florida Panthers on Monday night. Vancouver’s offence is scorching hot with 17 goals in the team’s last three games. After registering just two points through his first seven games, Bo Horvat has four goals and three assists in the Canucks’ last four. Over their last nine games, the Canucks are 7-1-1, bringing their season record to 7-3-1.
Vancouver has won each of its last three games against Los Angeles and is 8-4 on the moneyline in its last 12 games against the Kings per the OddsShark NHL Database.
Los Angeles opened the season with a 2-2 record and four straight offensive affairs, losing 6-5 to Edmonton and 8-2 to Vancouver but defeating Calgary 4-3 and Nashville 7-4. But since scoring 15 goals through their first four games, the Kings have averaged a modest 1.63 goals per game over their last eight games and have gone only 2-6 over that stretch. The once mighty Kings defence now sits in dead last in the NHL as the team has allowed an abysmal 4.08 goals per game.
Wednesday night’s total is set at six goals at online betting sites. The UNDER is 10-2 in Vancouver’s last 12 games on the road.
These two teams are trending in totally different directions with Vancouver surging since an 0-2 start to the season and Los Angeles struggling badly in both zones. Given how poorly the Kings are playing and how easily the Canucks defeated them the last time these two clubs met, Vancouver does need to be careful about taking this game too lightly. Then again, even just a lackluster effort might still be enough to pick up the win in this one.
