The Vancouver Canucks are 0-6-3 in their last nine games against the New Jersey Devils. The Canucks will try to snap their nine-game losing streak against the Devils with a road win on Saturday afternoon.

The Canucks extended their winning streak to four games on Thursday with a 4-3 shootout win over the St. Louis Blues. In the process, they also snapped their four-game losing streak. Vancouver’s offence has produced 19 goals over the team’s last four games; Elias Pettersson has been particularly hot with two goals and four assists over that stretch since failing to record a point in the team’s first two games of the season. Pettersson is coming off of a rookie season in which he scored 28 goals and 38 assists in 71 games.

The New Jersey Devils finally picked up their first win of the season on Thursday against the New York Rangers. The 5-2 victory marked the first time that the Devils have given up less than three goals this season and just the third time they’ve given up less than four. Across an 0-4-2 start, New Jersey got torched for 4.5 goals per game. The Devils are just 4-11 in their last 15 games against Western Conference opponents.
Saturday afternoon’s total is set at 5.5 goals at betting sites. The OVER is 5-0 in New Jersey’s last five games at home.
This will be the first NHL meeting between Quinn Hughes, Vancouver’s seventh overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, and his brother Jack Hughes, New Jersey’s first overall pick in 2019. Quinn has a goal and two assists so far this season while Jack has just one assist. Both Hughes brothers are projected to have bright futures in the league.
