Game Seven of the Stanley Cup Finals — no better words in sports, and tonight may just be the biggest stage our sports has ever seen. For us gamblers, there’s no doubt in my mind that this will be the most bet-on game in NHL history. Although we’ve had a rough playoffs, my goal is for us to end the season on a high note.
With plenty of props to bet on tonight and sportsbooks bringing in their best traders, we must find an edge. We’re going to stay clear of shots today, as with so much on the line, I don’t trust stats keepers to be authentic.
Today’s expected goaltender matchups for our highlighted game:
The Florida Panthers’ Sergei Bobrovsky (36-17-4) vs. The Edmonton Oilers’ Stuart Skinner (36-15-2).

Carter Verhaeghe to score a point at -135. My $12.50 bet would return $21.75.

Carter Verhaeghe remains on the Florida Panthers’ top line with Sam Reinhart and Aleksander Barkov. If the Panthers have any chance tonight, they’ll need production from this line and their first unit power-play, where Verhaeghe also plays.
The Panthers sniper drew an assist on the only Panthers goal of the game in game six. Take this play at a full unit.

Sam Reinhart to score anytime at +140. My $10 bet would return $24.

Spoilers: I am riding with the Panthers tonight. I will explain why further in this post, but I really like Reinhart to get one tonight for a few reasons.
Firstly, he’s simply due. The 57-goal scorer has only one goal in this series despite getting a ton of run on PP1. On Florida’s number one line, I expect Reinhart to get some grade-A chances tonight and finally bury one.
I also love betting on teams’ top empty-net scorers in game seven. If Edmonton is down late, they’re going to keep pulling Stuart Skinner, no matter the score. If that’s the case, Reinhart should get plenty of cracks at the empty cage.

Panthers to win money-line at +100. My $12.50 bet would return $25.

The lines are moving, and Edmonton is closing as the favourite. And why wouldn’t they be? They’ve clearly been the better team over the past three games and have all the momentum. My counterargument to that is these three games aside, I just think Florida is better, and this game is on their home ice.
Most of the public money is on Edmonton, but I am going against the grain here and hammering the Panthers in a low-scoring affair.

Last Game Bets

Carter Verhaeghe to register over 2.5 shots at -160. My $12.50 bet would return $20.31. – MISSED
Connor McDavid to register over 3.5 shots at -115. My $12.50 bet would return $23.36.- MISSED
Aleksander Barkov to score a point at -175. My $12.50 bet would return $19.64. – HIT
Yeah not great again, with score effects you would think Verhaeghe would have shot more but the Panthers just didn’t have it in game six.
We’re down $144.56 on the playoff which is by far the worst betting run I have ever been on, but all we can do is try and end the year strong.
