In every sport, every all-time great had their crowning moment: Michael Jordan hit the shot in game six against the Utah Jazz, Sidney Crosby scored the golden goal, and LeBron James came back from 3-1 down against the greatest team ever with his iconic chase-down block. For hockey’s current superstar, we may just be witnessing his right now.
With everyone writing the Edmonton Oilers off when they were down 3-0 against a juggernaut Florida Panthers team, Connor McDavid responded with back-to-back four-point games. He now joins the two best offensive talents of all time, Mario Lemieux and Wayne Gretzky, as the only players ever with 40+ points in a single post-season.
With game six on the horizon and the Stanley Cup in the building, win or lose, all I know is Connor McDavid should be the slam dunk winner of the Conn Smythe trophy.
Today’s expected goaltender matchups for our highlighted game:
The Florida Panthers’ Sergei Bobrovsky (36-17-4) vs. The Edmonton Oilers’ Stuart Skinner (36-15-2).
Carter Verhaeghe to register over 2.5 shots at -160. My $12.50 bet would return $20.31.
Carter Verhaeghe has returned to Florida’s top line with Sam Reinhart and Aleksander Barkov. The Panthers sniper has registered seven shots in his last two games, and I love his value here at 2.5 tonight.
Take this bet at a full unit.
Connor McDavid to register over 3.5 shots at -115. My $12.50 bet would return $23.36.
Game six at home, cup in the building, and you just know McDavid will be all over the ice; if you’re really into betting, I would even consider laddering McDavid’s shots tonight.
Take this play at a full unit also.
Aleksander Barkov to score a point at -175. My $12.50 bet would return $19.64.
Barkov was the favourite for the Conn Smythe as recently as mid-way through the last game, but now, McDavid has become the massive favourite. But despite being quiet in games four and five, Barkov should get back on the board tonight, especially with Carter Verhaeghe joining his line again and the Panthers changing their powerplay.
Take this play at a unit also.
Last Game Bets
Leon Draisaitl to register over 2.5 shots at -150. My $12.50 bet would return $20.80. – MISSED
Sam Reinhart to score anytime at +140. My $10 bet would return $24. – MISSED
Panthers to win in regulation +105. My $12.50 bet would return $25.60. – MISSED
This is the worst stretch of betting I have ever had. I’m sorry if you’re tailing, but you guys know we’ve been up a lot since I took over here at Canucks Army. Make sure to always just manage your units and never bet more than your means.
We are now down $127.83 on the playoffs.
