After leaving Saturday night’s game against the Anaheim Ducks early in the first period, Vancouver Canucks defenceman Kyle Burroughs is out for potentially two months with broken ribs, according to Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie and Dhali – The Team.
After morning skate today, head coach Bruce Boudreau said Burroughs is out week-to-week with an upper body injury.
It’s tough news for the 26-year-old local kid, who has appeared in 36 games this season for his hometown Canucks, and scored the first goal of his NHL career with the club this season.
The Canucks appear to have called up Madison Bowey, who is on their active roster as of this morning.
