The Canucks snapped a four-game losing streak with an impressive 4-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Monday night with Thatcher Demko making 27 saves in his first career shutout and Elias Pettersson and Nick Schmidt both recording a goal and an assist. Vancouver was unable to build off that win however as the Canucks lost 5-2 in their second night of the back-to-back against the Jets.

Vancouver is now 0-4 in its last four games coming off of a win since winning four straight games back at the end of January. Over their last 15 games, the Canucks are just 3-10-2.

Toronto has opened up a seven-point lead over the rest of the NHL with the league’s best record of 18-4-2. The Maple Leafs wrapped up a three-game road set against the Edmonton Oilers with three straight regulation wins, outscoring the Oilers 13-1 over those three games. Through their first 24 games, the Maple Leafs rank best in the NHL in goals for with 3.63 per game and fourth in goals against allowing only 2.33 per game. Toronto is 3-0 in its last three games on the second night of a back-to-back since going 0-10 on the moneyline in its previous 10 such games.

Thursday night’s total is set at 6.5 goals at online betting sites. The UNDER is 6-1 in Toronto’s last seven road games against the Canucks.

The Maple Leafs are averaging 3.63 goals and allowing only 1.63 goals per game over their current 7-1-0 run. The Canucks had no answer for Toronto in a three-game road set in February in which Vancouver went 0-3 and was outscored 15-5. Vancouver is going to have to be at its best to have a shot at pulling off an upset in this one.
