Vancouver Canucks forward Michael Ferland has been deemed unfit to play during the teams first day of training camp Monday.
The forward had battled concussion issues throughout the regular season, but recently had begun skating alongside teammates in phase two activities.
Questions had come up about his ability to hold a hockey-playing career, so it was great news to see him on the ice last week.
With NHL training camps kicking off across the NHL, the league is handling all injury reports for teams across the league. For any player who tests positive, the NHL and its teams will not be identifying specific cases without prior approval from the NHL or NHLPA.
Jim Benning is expected to speak to the media at 12:30.
