Welcome to What Would You Do Wednesday! This is a new feature on Canucks Army, though if you read, well, almost every other site on the network, you’ve probably already seen it before. Basically, it’s an opportunity to show the Noodle-fueled Overlords in Edmonton that you, the reader, are much more intelligent than us, the half-dozen or so monkeys trying to write Shakespeare using old graphing calculators.
This week, our topic is one that involves a pressing need. As you might already know, Christopher Higgins is going to be out of the Canucks lineup for at least three weeks with a fractured foot. At the very minimum, Higgins will miss the first three games of the season as a result.
Typically, you’d see him playing on the wing of either the second or (more likely) third line, so this leaves an open spot in the top nine. Our question is – what do you do with it?
There are a bunch of options here – you can keep a Utica-bound prospect up for a while, you can promote a grinder to see how they react to a more offensive role, or you can even keep a junior player around for an extended tryout (looking at you Jake Virtanen). But, that’s not up to us to answer – we’d like to hear your thoughts!
Remember to keep the debate civil (aka: don’t be stupid), and we’ll feature some of our favourite responses next week.
