What’s On Tap? The Complete Canucks Schedule: January 23rd – 29th

It’s Monday, which means it’s a new week, which means you need another complete Canucks schedule to see what the Canucks, their affiliates, and their prospects are up to this week.
There’s a bit of a lull in the first half of the week, so you’ll get to focus on the Canucks taking on the NHL’s two worst teams. The big club will get some time off this weekend and into next week, so there will be plenty of time to keep an eye how the future Canucks are doing.

Notes
- All prospects appear to be healthy for this week’s games. Players that previously missed time (Will Lockwood, Tate Olson) returned to action last week. Thatcher Demko has been under the weather, though he’s been backing up. It’s unknown when he’ll get his next start.
- Tate Olson plays the most games this week, scheduled to suit up four times.
- Olli Juolevi, Tate Olson, and Jakob Stukel will each play three games in three from Friday to Sunday.
Games to Watch
- Saturday, 12:30pm PST: Olli Juolevi’s London Knights will take on the Owen Sound on Saturday afternoon. Two of Juolevi’s teammates, centre Robert Thomas and winger Alex Formenton were recently ranked in the first round by a couple of different services. On the opposition is centre Nick Suzuki (consolidated rank 27th) and defenceman Markus Phillips (mid-2nd round).
- Sunday, 4:00pm PST: You can see Canucks prospect Cole Candella and the Hamilton Bulldogs take on the Windsor Spitfires on Sunday evening, though your eyes may be drawn to several other players. His teammate Matthew Strome (the third of the Strome brothers) is ranked near the end of the first round, while MacKenzie Entwistle is ranked in the middle of the 2nd.On the Spitfires you can see a potential top five pick in Gabe Vilardi, as well as one of the top-ranked goaltenders in Michael DiPietro. You can also keep an eye on Mikhail Sergachev if you want to compare his progress to that of Juolevi’s.
- Sunday, 3:00pm PST: This is the big match of the week, and it has little to do with Jakob Stukel. The Calgary Hitmen host the Brandon Wheat Kings, so here’s a good opportunity to see a Canucks prospect take on the presumptive first overall pick Nolan Patrick. As the Canucks are working in the opposite direction of getting the first overall selection, you can also keep an eye on Stelio Mattheos, a centre ranked near the top of the 2nd round.
