There’s a headline I never thought I’d write.
The Vancouver Canucks, and every other Canadian team in the NHL’s newly formed North Division, have received clearance to play in their home arena.
There was talk earlier this week about the BC, Ontario, and Quebec provincial governments not signing off on allowing NHL teams to travel in and out of the provinces, but the issue appears to be resolved, according to multiple reports citing the NHL’s Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly:
“On the basis of our discussions in the past week, as well as our exchange of correspondence over the last 24 hours, we believe we are aligned and in agreement on the conditions on which each of our Canadian franchises can begin play in their own buildings for the start of the 2020-21 NHL season,” said Daly.
The report was confirmed locally by Patrick Johnston of The Province, who confirmed that the Canucks received clearance to play their home games at Rogers Arena this season.
Training camp kicks off on January 3rd, and CanucksArmy will be there every step of the way bringing you wall-to-wall coverage heading into the new season.
