The Vancouver Canucks have recalled goaltender Jake Kielly after goaltender Michael DiPietro was deemed unfit to play.
DiPietro had been in Vancouver training and getting tested every day under Phase 4 protocols. Kielly, meanwhile, will be reporting to the Edmonton bubble.
Kielly, 23, appeared in 24 games with the Canucks’ ECHL affiliate in Kalamazoo posting a 7-11-4 record and an .887 save percentage. He played in two games for the Utica Comets last year, too, posting a 1-0 record and a .923 save percentage.
In a press conference earlier today, Canucks head coach Travis Green remained mum on the status of goaltender Jacob Markstrom saying “tune into the game tonight and you’ll see.”
