The Vancouver Canucks are going to be a part of history come September.
The team announced its pre-season schedule today, and it features the Canucks not only being involved in the first-ever NHL games played in China, but they’ll also be the Vegas Golden Knights’ opponent in their first NHL game.
The first game of the Canucks’ 2017-18 season will be played in Los Angeles on Sept. 16. That’s only 94 days away! The following day, they’ll welcome Brandon Sutter and his Vegas Golden Knights to town. The China games will be played in Shanghai on Sept. 21 and Beijing on Sept. 23, both against the Kings. The rest of the schedule is filled by games against Pacific Division rivals, the Oilers and Flames.
