The day after 2026-27 training camp concluded, the Vancouver Canucks made their first wave of roster cuts.

Canucks ‘ general manager announced on Monday afternoon that 11 players have been cut from the preseason roster and assigned to the American Hockey League’s Abbotsford Canucks or to their respective junior teams.

Five players, Vilmer Alriksson, Gabriel Chiarot, Anri Ravinskis, Aku Koskenvuo, and Ty Young, have been assigned to AHL Abbotsford. Five more players, Austin Brimmer, Bennett Schimek, Joe Arntsen, Tim Rego, and Gavin White, have been released from their professional tryout contracts and will also go to Abbotsford. Lucian Bernat, the Canucks’ sixth-round pick this season who missed the Prospect Showcase and skated with the injured players at training camp, has been assigned to his respective junior team.

Of these players, only Alriksson saw preseason game action on Saturday. The towering winger played just 9:11 of the contest, but racked up an impressive four hits in his limited ice time.

That leaves 46 players on the roster, including a trio of intriguing young prospects: Braeden Cootes, Adam Novotný, and Brooks Rogowski. Here are all 46 players that remain by position:

Defencemen: Isaac Belliveau, Guillaume Brisebois, Zeev Buium, Cole Clayton, Filip Hronek, Kirill Kudryavtsev, Victor Mancini, Sawyer Mynio, Jamie Oleksiak, Elias Pettersson, Luke Schenn, Jimmy Schuldt, Jack Thompson, and Tom Willander.

Goalies: Thatcher Demko, Chris Driedger, Kevin Lankinen, Aleksei Medvedev, and Nikita Tolopilo.

The Canucks are back in action on Tuesday when they take on the Calgary Flames for their second preseason game. With only four preseason games on the schedule, we are anticipating more roster cuts after that second contest.
