The Vancouver Canucks have assigned forward Zack MacEwen to the American Hockey league’s Utica Comets.
The assignment comes ahead of the NHL’s all-star break.
MacEwen, 23, has played in eight games this season scoring one goal and adding one assist. The 6’3, 205 lbs. right-shot centre averaged 9:11 time on ice per game.
The assignment will give MacEwen, who hasn’t dressed for the Canucks since Dec. 12, some time to get his feet back underneath him.
The Comets play three games before the Canucks return to action on Dec. 27 against the St. Louis Blues.
