Despite leaving Game 1 of the Prospect Showcase, The Athletic’s Thomas Drance reported that 2025 first-round pick Braeden Cootes is expected to be available for training camp.
Thursday and Friday will consist of team drills, with Canucks fans getting their first glimpse of what new head coach Adam Foote’s ideas are for the lines, including the power play and penalty kill. On Saturday, they will hold a team scrimmage, with Sunday serving as a morning skate for their preseason opener against the Kraken.
Vancouver will then head back home for two more preseason games against the Calgary Flames (Sept. 24) and Kraken (Sept. 26) before heading out to Alberta to face the Edmonton Oilers (Sept. 28) and Flames (Oct. 1). Their final preseason game takes place against the Oilers (Oct. 3), in what will be their final test run before kicking off the season against the Flames (Oct. 9) in Rogers Arena.
