The Utica Comets have added goaltender Mitch Gillam on a PTO deal. The signing is due to Thatcher Demko being under the weather for today’s game.
Gillam is a 25-year-old netminder from Peterborough, Ontario who has been playing with the Worcester Railers of the ECHL. In 17 games with the Railers, Gillam has posted seven wins and nine losses. He has a goals-against average of 2.68 and a save percentage of 0.902 and has picked up one assist.
Gillam has a B.C. connection as well, having played the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons with the Chilliwack Chiefs of the BCHL.
The Comets hit the ice in Utica today at 4:00 pm Pacific time to take on the visiting Hartford Wolf Pack. CanucksArmy will have your post-game report following the game.
