Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday!
This week in 2009 (Aug. 28), the Vancouver Canucks acquired Christian Ehrhoff and Brad Lukowich from the San Jose Sharks. In exchange, the Canucks gave up Daniel Rahimi and Patrick White.
Ehrhoff’s time in Vancouver was short-lasting only two seasons, but he was a big part of the team that went to the 2011 finals.
In 159 games with the Canucks, he scored 28 goals and 94 points from the backend. In the playoffs he came to perform, too, scoring two goals and 12 points in 23 games.
After the cup run, he was dealt to the New York Islanders for a 4th round pick later moved to Columbus, who drafted Josh Anderson.
Lukowich, meanwhile, didn’t play much in Vancouver meanwhile. He played in only 13 games in the 2009-10 season scoring one goal and one assist. After the one year, Vancouver let him walk as he signed with Dallas.
Rahimi, who was drafted by the Canucks in the 3rd round of the 2006 draft, never played an NHL game. Similarly, White, a 2007 1st round pick, never played an NHL game.
