Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday!
On this day in 1983, the Vancouver Canucks throttle the Buffalo Sabres 8-3 in thanks to a Darcy Rota hattrick and a four-point night from Doug Halward.

Canucks head coach Roger Nielson had much praise for defenceman Halward and Rotra.
The game was fairly tight after the first frame, with two Rota goals in the last 10 minutes giving the Canucks a 3-2 lead. But in the second, things got away from the Sabres.
Patrik Sundstrom, Halward, and Gary Lupul scored to make it 6-2. Rota capped off his hattrick in the third, while Jim Nill also scored.
The win gave the Canucks a three-point lead over the Winnipeg jets and LA Kings at the time. The Canucks made the playoffs finishing third in the Smyth Division, but fell in the first round to the Calgary Flames.
