Take A Trip Back to 1995

Jan 25, 2016, 16:20 ESTUpdated:
This week is strange. The X-Files is back on television, and the Vancouver Canucks are wearing the black, red and yellow again. Today, after being talked about for months, we got our first look at the Canucks uniforms for their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 13th. And what better player to don the uniform for the photo shoots, than someone who wasn’t even alive in 1995. (I just made the cut).
It’s a weird thing in sports. We go through these phases in which he beg for a uniform change, and then we long for the days in which those uniforms were here. The “Spaghetti Skate” jerseys are exhibit A in that. People have been begging for the Canucks to wear these in some capacity for the last five years, at least and it was the perfect time to do so, with them honouring their 20 year history in GM Place/Rogers Arena.
Now don’t get me wrong. The best uniforms the Canucks have ever had are right in front of our eyes every night. The only thing that they need to change is the wordmark/orca. The Canucks third jersey, could become their full time duds, with a white version and they would be one of the best looking teams in the league.
This isn’t about the uniforms now, though. We are getting a blast from the past with the visions of Pavel Bure, Trevor Linden and the 90’s dancing in our heads.

It’s not just the uniforms that were released today, either. Ryan Miller was seen in practice using his gear which he will use for the game against the Maple Leafs in a few weeks.
The Canucks are sure to be releasing more, and hyping up this special night, and we can’t get enough of it.
