The Vancouver Canucks were back practicing at Rogers Arena today ahead of their Wednesday night matchup with the Montreal Canadiens.

The Canucks’ lines appear to remain unchanged from their winning lineup in Toronto.

For the second day in a row, Tucker Poolman participated in a full practice, which would suggest he had no setbacks after practicing yesterday. Poolman was dealing with migraines and headaches and has been out since January 27th.

J.T. Miller chatted with Bruce Boudreau for an extended period of time at the Canucks’ bench once practice had concluded, and Canucks Twitter began trying to predict exactly what the conversation entailed.

Turns out, this was likely the most realistic scenario:

We asked Boudreau to give us the juicy details of what this conversation was about and FOLKS… it is quite underwhelming.

“I’m having individual meetings with all players,” Boudreau said. “And he just said, ‘can we talk on the bench rather than while I undress?’ And I said, ‘Yeah.’

Last night, the Canucks unveiled the Pride jerseys that they will wear for warmup against the Washington Capitals on March 11th.

Today, defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson wore them on the ice for a mini photoshoot, and we grabbed some pictures of our own.

Seemingly out of nowhere, the Habs have become one of the hottest teams in the league, and Luke Schenn knows he and his group will have to be prepared for tomorrow night.

“This is a team that’s feeling really good about themselves and are confident,” said Schenn. And with their last handful of games, obviously a new coach comes in there, they’re all believing in themselves too. This isn’t a game at all where you can look at the standings and take these guys lightly. These guys are probably the hottest team in the league right now, so it’s going to be a tough test tomorrow and we’ve got to be prepared to start this homestand.”

Quinn Hughes talked about the chemistry he and Schenn are building with each other, and how they’re looking forward to bouncing back after a less-than-spectacular past couple of games.

“I just like that you know what you’re getting from him defensively,” said Hughes on the fit with Schenn. “He’s not worried about getting up in the play or anything, he just wants to be solid. I think he’s got a good brain for the game too. He’s smart, and I don’t think he gets enough credit for that. He’s really been working on his game the last couple of years and I can see that.

“For me, I mean, he helps me just as much as I’d like to think I help him and like I said, we haven’t been as good as we want — as good as we were in the first 20 games maybe — but we haven’t been bad either. And we just want to find that consistency in the last 25 here.”

Bruce Boudreau says that his club still believes they’re right in the playoff hunt, and are ready to try to defy the odds.

“We can’t afford to take our foot off the gas,” said Boudreau. “I mean, everywhere you read it says it’s still a long shot, but we still believe that we’ve got that opportunity. The minute we take our foot off the gas is the minute that we’re saying that we’re not going to make it — and I think the guys in that room have got a lot of belief in themselves at this stage. These seven games are and none of them are easy, and are going to be a real telltale sign.”
