The Vancouver Canucks were back practicing at Rogers Arena today ahead of their Wednesday night matchup with the Montreal Canadiens.
The Canucksā lines appear to remain unchanged from their winning lineup in Toronto.
Power play formations!
For the second day in a row, Tucker Poolman participated in a full practice, which would suggest he had no setbacks after practicing yesterday. Poolman was dealing with migraines and headaches and has been out since January 27th.
A conversation at the bench
J.T. Miller chatted with Bruce Boudreau for an extended period of time at the Canucksā bench once practice had concluded, and Canucks Twitter began trying to predict exactly what the conversation entailed.
āIām never going to let them trade youā
"If they gave out 6X6 to Loui, imagine what they'll give to you!"
Turns out, this was likely the most realistic scenario:
Bruce- "J.T. just sit here beside me for like 10 minutes. It'll make the media go crazy."
We asked Boudreau to give us the juicy details of what this conversation was about and FOLKS⦠it is quite underwhelming.
āIām having individual meetings with all players,ā Boudreau said. āAnd he just said, ācan we talk on the bench rather than while I undress?ā And I said, āYeah.ā

OEL debuts the pride jersey
Last night, the Canucks unveiled the Pride jerseys that they will wear for warmup against the Washington Capitals on March 11th.
Today, defenceman Oliver Ekman-Larsson wore them on the ice for a mini photoshoot, and we grabbed some pictures of our own.
First look at the #Canucks Pride jerseys in person.
What was said
Did you really think we would get through a scenes from morning skate/ practice article without giving you the goods on everything that was said by the players and coaches who were made available to media today?
Seemingly out of nowhere, the Habs have become one of the hottest teams in the league, and Luke Schenn knows he and his group will have to be prepared for tomorrow night.
āThis is a team thatās feeling really good about themselves and are confident,ā said Schenn. And with their last handful of games, obviously a new coach comes in there, theyāre all believing in themselves too. This isnāt a game at all where you can look at the standings and take these guys lightly. These guys are probably the hottest team in the league right now, so itās going to be a tough test tomorrow and weāve got to be prepared to start this homestand.ā
Quinn HughesĀ talked about the chemistry he and Schenn are building with each other, and how theyāre looking forward to bouncing back after a less-than-spectacular past couple of games.
āI just like that you know what youāre getting from him defensively,ā said Hughes on the fit with Schenn. āHeās not worried about getting up in the play or anything, he just wants to be solid. I think heās got a good brain for the game too. Heās smart, and I donāt think he gets enough credit for that. Heās really been working on his game the last couple of years and I can see that.
āFor me, I mean, he helps me just as much as Iād like to think I help him and like I said, we havenāt been as good as we want ā as good as we were in the first 20 games maybe ā but we havenāt been bad either. And we just want to find that consistency in the last 25 here.ā
Bruce BoudreauĀ says that his club still believes theyāre right in the playoff hunt, and are ready to try to defy the odds.
āWe canāt afford to take our foot off the gas,ā said Boudreau. āI mean, everywhere you read it says itās still a long shot, but we still believe that weāve got that opportunity. The minute we take our foot off the gas is the minute that weāre saying that weāre not going to make it ā and I think the guys in that room have got a lot of belief in themselves at this stage. These seven games are and none of them are easy, and are going to be a real telltale sign.ā
