The Canucks will take on the Red Wings at 4:30 PM tonight and there has been a flurry of new news in regards to their roster over the last few hours.
Firstly, Brock Boeser will not suit up tonight as he continues to battle a reported groin strain. Brendan Leipsic and Darren Archibald will be inserted into the forwards ranks with Brendan Gaunce being a healthy scratch.
On defence, Chris Tanev is good to go and to get under the 23 man roster limit, the Canucks have re-assigned Jalen Chatfield to the Utica Comets.
Chatfield did not appear in any games for the Canucks and will likely suit up for the Comets later this week.
At this moment, there is no confirmation on the lines or pairings as the Canucks sort through the injuries, recalls, and scratches. Given that there was an optional skate this morning, there is no clear picture of how it will shake out at this moment but we will obviously know when the Canucks hit the ice for warm-up shortly.
Lastly, down on the farm, goaltender Thatcher Demko participated in practice as he continues to recover from the concussion suffered in training camp. Ivan Kulbakov has been holding the fort in net with Richard Bachman up in Vancouver.
