Vancouver Canucks owner Francesco Aquilini will meet with general manager Jim Benning today, according to a report from Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Here’s what Friedman had to say in a tweet:
“Hearing VAN owner Francesco Aquilini to meet with GM Jim Benning this afternoon. Neither individual will comment, but from what I understand, this is a meeting to understand why the team is losing and address it, not to make a change at the position.”
As was reported by Matt Sekeres of Sekeres and Price, the Canucks held a high-level meeting yesterday, and could hold another today.
The Canucks are 2-7-1 in their last ten games, and after a disastrous homestand, the team went 0-3 on the road, including a downright embarrassing loss at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche.
More to come.
