High-level #Canucks meeting today & another meeting likely tomorrow. If that first meeting determined change is inevitable, have to wonder if that change comes Tuesday? No sense putting yourself through a possibly hostile home game if you’re going to make a change anyway.

Report: Canucks had high-level meeting yesterday, could hold another today

There’s trouble brewing in Canucksland.
2-7-1 in their last ten games, and fresh off the heels of a four-game losing streak and 0-3 road trip — change could be coming soon for the Vancouver Canucks.
A high-level meeting took place within the organization yesterday, and another is likely to take place today, according to a report from Matt Sekeres of Sekeres and Price.
You’d be hard-pressed to find one Canucks fan that is content with the way things are going for the team right now, and the way they’ve gone for the past eights years under this management regime.
This iteration of the Canucks features players who have all been acquired by Jim Benning himself, with the exception of Bo Horvat, who was here when Benning arrived back in 2015.
And this is the result. A team that looks as though their ceiling is to just get into the playoffs and see what happens.
The pressure’s on for both Benning and Green, and rightfully so.
Tomorrow’s game against the Avalanche — and this homestand as a whole — could have massive ramifications on what ends up taking place this week within the organization.
Stephan Roget wrote about how that shouldn’t be the case, and that it’s a cowardly move by ownership to let fans influence their decision on Benning and Green. You can read that article here.
More to come.
