Player Power Rankings: Prospects Edition – March 20th, 2018

It’s hard to rank players when they had a terrible week of games, so I’m switching it up and going in a more positive direction. Everyone knows we love our prospects – they’re one of our only reasons for to be optimistic about the team, quite frankly.
1. Adam Gaudette
Arguably the favourite to win the Hobey Baker Award, Gaudette had no shortage of accomplishments this week:
- Top 10 Hobey Baker finalist
- Hockey East Player of the Year
- Walter Brown Award (best American-born player in New England)
2. Jonathan Dahlen
He has 7 points (4 goals, 3 assists) in 3 playoff games for Timra.
3. Elias Pettersson.
He thinks that the Pettersson-Dahlen comparisons to the Sedins are “Totally sick”

4. Jonah Gadjovich
He scored a sick between-the-legs goal last week:

5. Kole Lind
He led the Kelowna Rockets in points this regular season:
Top Scorer - Kole Lind. Lind had 95 points. Team high 22 goals on road.
6. Michael DiPietro
He carried his rebuilding Windsor Spitfires team this season.

7. Matt Brassard
Become familiar with him, Canucks fans. He might just be a dark horse prospect:

8. Petrus Palmu
He had a really good rookie season in the SM Liiga:
Petrus Palmu finished his regular season with 36 points (17+19) in 58 games - good enough to lead all SM Liiga rookies in points. His TPS squad awaits the winner of Assat and Lukko who will play a best-of-3 wildcard round starting Tuesday. #Canucks
9. Zack MacEwen
He’s also had a really good rookie season, except with Utica in the AHL. He has 32 points (10 goals, 22 assists) in 59 games in his first professional season.
Okay, that’s three games in a row that I have noticed a quick burst of speed from Zack MacEwen to close on a loose puck...big fella has been putting in the work
10. Jalen Chatfield and Guillaume Brisebois
Jim Benning thinks very highly of them.
11. Will Lockwood
Considering he’s missed significant time over the past two seasons due to his shoulder injury, this isn’t terrible news:
F Will Lockwood has told the #Canucks he will stay at U of Michigan 1 more year and not turn pro. Lockwood (shoulder) won't play against Adam Gaudette and Northeastern this weekend.
12. Jakob Stukel
That’s unfortunate news for Stukel:
The #Canucks have told 20 year old F Jakob Stukel that they are not signing him. A 6th round pick in 2016 by Van, Stukel camp trying to see if they can get to pro hockey, they are talking to the NHLPA.
12. Olli Juolevi
Sami Salo has spent more time with Olli Juolevi than Canucks fans have, so he knows what he’s talking about. He’s not exactly singing the praises for him…
13. Kristoffer Gunnarsson
That’s not good:
14. Cole Candella, Rodrigo Abols, Brett McKenzie
Meh.
