Hi everyone, my name is David Quadrelli, and I’m the Managing Editor of CanucksArmy and the Editor-in-Chief of The Nation Network. Our network features a number of shows across North America, along with multiple team sites in various Canadian NHL markets (and a Raptors and Blue Jays site whose staff I’m equally proud of!).

The Nation Network also features our flagship national brand, Daily Faceoff. Our staff at “DFO,” as we call it, have brought high-level analysis, editorial, and up-to-the-second news on top of what we’re best known for: Fantasy hockey tools, line combinations, and starting goaltender information every day.

Today, we’re here to announce that beginning today, we will be transitioning the names of our hockey team sites (CanucksArmy, OilersNation, FlamesNation, and TheLeafsNation) to verticals of Daily Faceoff for each specific city.

“We are very excited about this next chapter because of what it unlocks for our business,” said Jay Downton, co-founder and President of The Nation Network. “By taking this step, we will be able to unlock more content for our fans, provide greater opportunities for our teammates, and ultimately drive the next step for TNN and Daily Faceoff as a hockey platform. This evolution to our hockey sites will help us unlock stronger connections to both the teams and the league, and we look forward to continuing to empower our trusted teams to create high-quality local content for Canucks fans.”

The CanucksArmy YouTube channel and social media accounts have already switched over to the new name and branding, and over the next few months, you will see various changes to the branding on CanucksArmy.com, culminating in the eventual full transition to Daily Faceoff Vancouver in January 2027.

It’s important to note that with this change: we’re not changing what we do. In fact, like Jay said, we’re hopeful this change allows us to unlock even more opportunities with what we’re able to do in bringing top notch coverage to Canucks fans. We’re still going to deliver in-depth gameday coverage with our Scenes from morning skate series from the rink. The Stanchies aren’t going anywhere. We’ll still be in the Canucks’ locker room, bringing you the stories from players that you won’t find anywhere else (who could forget such classics like Collin Delia breaks his silence on Fartgate?)

None of our old articles will be going away with this transition, so you can still go back and read pivotal CanucksArmy articles such as We think the Vancouver Canucks may have a scouting problem(!!!!), The Canucks are mediocre, and many more.

This change is a bit bittersweet as someone who grew up reading this blog and as someone who has been trusted to lead it for the past six years, but at the end of the day, it’s more sweet than bitter, and I’m excited to see the next chapter of this website unfold with our same local community focus behind it.
