A few big nuggets of news came out of a Tuesday morning update from Vancouver Canucks head coach Travis Green.
Most importantly was the non-update on Elias Pettersson, who the Canucks bench boss said is still skating on his own. The team’s franchise centre hasn’t played since March 2nd because of an upper-body injury, that Green said last week they thought wasn’t going to be an issue.
“We originally thought it wasn’t going to be a huge issue, obviously it’s gone longer than we thought,” Green said a week ago Monday. “We’re hoping we see him sooner than later, he won’t play this week, but hopefully he makes improvements and is back soon.”
Forward Jake Virtanen stayed at home Tuesday as he was feeling unwell, while teammate Adam Gaudette had a positive COVID-19 test result and was pulled off the ice this morning.
Vancouver is preparing to take on the visiting Calgary Flames Wednesday night.
