We all knew it was coming, and now it’s happened.
Former Vancouver Canucks forward Nikolay Goldobin has signed a two-year contract with CSKA Moscow of the KHL.
Goldobin was acquired from the San Jose Sharks back in 2017 along with a fourth-round pick in exchange for Jannik Hansen.
Goldobin always showed offensive promise, but ultimately was unable to play a full 200-foot game, much to the ire of both former Canucks’ head coach Willie Desjardins, and current bench boss Travis Green.
Goldobin recorded 44 points in 114 games over four seasons with the Canucks, and tallied 50 points in 51 games with the Utica Comets this season.
