We’re back for another episode of Nation Network Radio powered by Shark Club Sports Bar & Grill on TSN 1040.
Don’t settle for nosebleeds! Always get a front row seat at Shark Club, your only destination for pre-game, post-game… every game! Located just minutes away from Rogers Arena at the corner of Georgia and Beatty, come eat, drink and talk a bit of trash. Learn more at www.sharkclub.com.
Usual co-host and TSN 1040 play-by-play voice Jon Abbott was covering the Toronto Maple Leafs and Washington Capitals, so that means CanucksArmy’s own Jackson McDonald was back in the studio for this week’s episode. As always, CanucksArmy Managing Editor J.D. Burke was there, too.
It’s Nation Network Radio’s first show after the February 26th trade deadline, so there are plenty of topics for discussion. Before they delve too deeply into that though they talk about the Canucks loss on Friday in overtime at the hands of the Nashville Predators, Alexander Edler’s points record for Canucks defencemen and lastly the third annual Vancouver Hockey Analytics Conference.
In the second segment, they are joined by the co-founder of Hockey-Graphs and a Vancouver-based hockey analytics tracing company Hockey Data, Garret Hohl. Hohl talks to Burke and McDonald about the analytics conference, some of the services his company can offer players and teams, and lastly, the Winnipeg Jets chances of going on a long playoff run this spring.
For the second hour of the show, Burke and McDonald take listener feedback and are inundated with callers and texts to the show about the Canucks work at the deadline. When the two have time, they offer their own thoughts on the deadline, and frankly, they don’t give it a ringing endorsement from the Canucks perspective.
