Listen: J.D. Burke Talks the World Junior Summer Showcase & Jake Virtanen

Aug 9, 2017, 11:00 EDTUpdated: Aug 9, 2017, 02:30 EDT
We may be in the thick of summer — especially in Vancouver, where the air is thick as soup and about as transparent — but hockey is still front and foremost in many a Canucks fans lives. Outlets like TSN 1040 AM are eager to sate that appetite, and they enlisted the help of Canucks Army’s own Managing Editor, J.D. Burke, to feed hockey content to the city’s famished.
Starting at about the nine-minute mark, Burke joins TSN 1040 AM’s Morning Show to talk shop with Bro Jake and Ben Kuzma. They start by getting into the World Junior Summer Showcase and discussing the performances of Jonah Gadjovich and Elias Pettersson in particular. Burke’s phone cuts out, but he makes a solid recovery to pick up right where they left off.
Lastly, the hosts ask about Jake Virtanen’s immediate future with the Canucks. Burke is still convinced that the Utica Comets aren’t just the likely destination but the one that’s best for his development next season.
