Headshots January 16th

Jan 16, 2012, 17:18 EST

Headshots are a Canucks Army feature where we link to the day’s freshest news, and other assorted Canucks web-goodies. If you’ve written a blogpost, produced a tribute video or birthed a clever .gif into existence – please e-mail me at thom.drance@gmail.com.
I’ve spent most of the last month criss-crossing North America, so Headshots has lapsed. But it makes its triumphant return today!
Have the Canucks played down to their opposition this season? Daniel Wagner does some digging over at Pass it to Bulis and the evidence suggests that indeed they do.
Vigneault and Ryan Kesler had a minor squabble in the press today. I assume that most fans and media are giving Vigneault the benefit of the doubt, and waiting to see whether or not this latest tactic works to motivate the team’s star center before criticizing the head-coach for losing the room. That’s what’s happening, right?
Andy Eide finds some respectable new lodgings over at The Hockey Writers. Today marked his debut and he urged the Canucks to consider calling up Chris Tanev.
Canucks.com talks to Jannik Hansen about getting Gene Simmons’ autograph. The Grantland founder attended the Canucks game last night.
Via Chloe Ezra, the many faces of Roberto Luongo:

Doug MacLean did a Doug MacLeanish thing, starting a baseless rumour about the Canucks acquiring George Parros. Here’s my take on why such a transaction makes absolutely no sense.
Dani at the Benched Whale previews tomorrow’s game between the Canucks and the Kings. Needless to say, she works in a healthy dose of Dustin Penner pancake jokes.
Last but not least, Gmac writes that the Canucks power-play has been deceptively poor for a while now, with the exception of the Boston game. He’s absolutely right, of course.
