After stepping down as head coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets prior to last season and taking a job with ESPN as a TV analyst, former Canucks head coach John Tortorella has reportedly agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Flyers on a four-year contract, according to ESPN’s Kevin Weekes.
According to Weekes, Tortorella’s deal is “in the neighbourhood” of $4 million per season for the next four seasons.
Tortorella, 63, stepped down after six seasons behind the Columbus bench shortly after the 2020-21 season.
Prior to that, he served as head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers before a brief stop in Vancouver in a season that many Canucks fans would like to forget.
