— J.D. Burke (@JDylanBurke) May 25, 2018Happy and excited to sign my first NHL-contract. A dream come true! I want to thank everyone who helped me along the way and especially my family. I couldn’t have done it without you. pic.twitter.com/NXTBLO1xBc

— Rick Dhaliwal (@DhaliwalSports) May 25, 2018Pettersson had an insanely good post-draft season. Like, historically good. He won the SHL Championship with Vaxjo in his rookie year and led the league in scoring (24-32-56 in 44 GP) and playoff scoring (10-9-19 in 13 GP). He was awarded named Rookie of the Year, Best Forward, Most Valuable Player, SHL Playoff MVP, a World Junior Silver Medal, and a World Championship Gold Medal.
Now that he has nothing left to prove in Sweden, Pettersson will almost certainly join the Canucks next season giving fans something to be excited about as the organization ventures into its post-Sedin years.
